The short version
Typaria has no accounts, and the test is scored in your browser. Your quiz answers never leave your device. A result link can carry scores in the URL, and a few intentional forms (contact, issue report, optional email insight) store what you submit so we can reply and improve the site. Those are explained below.
What is stored, and where
- On your device: your type and its five percentages, your daily check-ins, and your streak, in this browser's local storage. An unfinished test also keeps its answers in session storage so a reload does not cost you the run. Quiz answers are not uploaded.
- On our server, only when you submit a form: contact messages, issue reports, and optional email-insight / newsletter requests are stored in our MySQL database on Hostinger so we can respond, track status, and fix problems. We keep the fields you typed, locale when provided, page URL when you include one, a hashed form of your IP (not the raw address forever), and browser user-agent for support. We do not warehouse quiz answers, keystrokes, or full personality profiles from people who never opt in.
- Optional email insight: if you ask us to email your result, we store your email, type code, scores, and consent metadata under double opt-in — see below. That is the only path that stores type/scores on the server.
- Hosting logs: like any website, our host records ordinary web-server requests (IP address, timestamp, page requested) for security and reliability. That is outside our product database and is not a quiz warehouse.
Contact and issue reports
The contact form and “report an issue” mode send your message to hello@typaria.com and store a copy in our database so we can reply and keep a status (new, read, replied, or for reports: triaging / fixed). These forms do not subscribe you to marketing. We do not sell this data.
Links that contain your result
Because we do not keep a server-side copy of every result, a permanent result link has to carry the data itself:
typaria.com/r/infj-t-69-78-76-38-81/That address holds your four-letter type, your identity letter, and all five percentages in readable form. Anyone who has the link — anyone you send it to, anyone they forward it to, and anyone who can see it in a chat log or a browser history — can read your full result. A compare invite (/compare/with/intj-a/) carries your type in the same way. Treat both as public the moment you send them.
Those links cannot be revoked by flipping a server switch — the data is in the URL. That is the trade for a link that never expires without forcing an account.
If you ask us to email your result
Your result is shown in full without an email address, and it always will be. The form at the bottom of your result page is a convenience, not a gate.
If you use it, this is exactly what happens. We store your email address, your four-letter type and five percentages, the date you gave consent, and a hash of the IP you gave it from (consent evidence). Individual quiz answers are never sent to us.
We use double opt-in: the address stays pending until you click the link in a confirmation email, so nobody can sign you up. Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe. You can also write to us and we will remove you.
Records live on our Hostinger MySQL database for typaria.com. They are not sold, rented, or shared, and they are not used to advertise to you elsewhere.
Analytics
Production builds can load Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-M6VYEN0D0K) so we can understand which pages and product steps people use. Analytics cookies are off by default. A first-party banner asks you to Accept or Reject; until you Accept, Google Consent Mode keeps analytics_storage (and all ad storage signals) denied. Accept stores typaria_consent=granted in this browser's local storage and allows GA4 session cookies; Reject stores denied and we keep analytics storage denied (and clear known _ga cookies when possible).
When enabled, the tag uses Google's standard gtag.js pattern. We keep Google Signals and ad personalization signals off, and we ask the tag to anonymize IP addresses where the product supports it.
We record ordinary page views (including locale-prefixed routes such as /ja/) and privacy-safe product events — for example starting or finishing the test, viewing a result, sharing or copying a link, opening a pairing page, switching language, or submitting the contact form. Events never include your email address, your name, your free-text messages, or your individual quiz answers. When a type is relevant we may send only the public type code (for example INTJ-A), never the five percentage scores.
Share links that embed scores in the address (/r/…) and compare-invite links (/compare/with/…) still load analytics, but the path we report is redacted to /r/ or /compare/with/ (with any locale prefix) so those percentages are not sent to Google as a page path. You can force analytics off at build time with NEXT_PUBLIC_GA_DISABLED=1. If we add a separate cookieless provider (for example Plausible), it will be listed here before it is enabled — and it will also wait for Accept.

Advertising
There are no ads and no advertising partners today. If that ever changes we will update this page and explain your options before enabling anything.
Your data, your device
Device-local Typaria data (test progress, result, daily check-ins) lives on this browser, so you can inspect and delete it here without asking us. Clearing site data for typaria.com does the same job. Form submissions and optional email-insight records on our server are removed when you email us and ask.

Children
Typaria is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Quiz answers stay on the device. If a contact, report, or email-insight record was submitted for a child, write to us and we will delete that server row. Analytics (when enabled) is handled by Google under their terms — see Analytics above.
What Typaria must not be used for
Typaria is for self-discovery and conversation. It is not a clinical or diagnostic instrument, it has not been validated against an established scale, and it must not be used for hiring, employee selection, medical decisions, or any other consequential judgement about a person.
